ABOUT Mila
Mila Banfield is a foster parent, mom, author, speaker, and advocate from British Columbia.
She has spent years caring for children and supporting families through some of their hardest seasons. Her experience has given her a deep understanding of the emotional weight foster parents carry, the appointments, the transitions, the advocacy, the grief, the uncertainty, and the love that continues through it all.
Mila does not write or speak as an expert standing at a distance. She speaks as someone who has lived the long days, the tender moments, the complicated goodbyes, and the quiet decisions to keep going.
Her heart is for the caregiver who wonders if they are doing enough.
Through her book, speaking, and advocacy, Mila hopes to offer practical encouragement, honest reflection, and a sense of companionship to those walking the foster care journey.
Her message is simple:
You are not alone.
Your work matters.
And you do not need to be perfect to make a difference.
